Really? Someone literally asked "Next gen Challenger replacement?"
Nothing about Alfa Romeo and its history.
It's about hometown. And it wasn't just you or on this forum but a lot of people,do not know the difference between a hometown and a birthplace. Yes, some like me or maybe even you have the same town for both but it's not like that for Ralph.
There are multiple definitions to hometown. It can be 1) The place where you were born, 2) The place where you grew up, 3) The principle place of residence.
I have to say it: SHAME ON RALPH GILLES FOR RELEASING THIS SKETCH KNOWING FULL WELL THAT IT WOULD LEAD TO ARGUMENTS ON ALLPAR!!!
Maybe this sketch is a hint from Ralph that the next gen Challenger has been cancelled and that vehicle currently under development will now become an Alfa.
Or maybe sometimes a sketch is just a sketch.
May be Alfa Romeo but it also has a vague AMC vibe.
A new Javelin? That would be awesome!
Funny how the Avanti (Loewy) is still influencing design.
Hmmm, all I saw was a '71 Plymouth Road Runner....in Petty Blue.
I immediately saw/see Porche 944 but, remembered his affection for Itallian Sports Cars, too; then I thought Alfa Romeo orrrrr, New Chysler CUDA/CONQUEST.
I'll vote with freshforged... Javelin.. would love to see the Javelin come back. So miss the 74 once owned.
I think it is the italian version of the Dodge Viper the Alfa Romeo Zagato TZ3
I think it is exactly what he said it was. If they were to redo the Montreal ... okay, he's giving it a Challenger grille side view, but otherwise, it's pretty clearly a Montreal without the vent window. The rest could jsut be artistic license and sketching ... I really think it was indeed a doodle.
No Dave!!! Although he CLEARLY stated what it was,.... He really is just giving us a preview of the new Challenger... OBVIOUSLY!!
On a serious note though, this is why there is so much confusion in the world. Someone can communicate something as plainly and literally as they could, and some just cannot accept it.
But back on topic... I think that his sketch, if ever brought to fruition would sell like gangbusters. Those that are familiar with this car, what's the general size. It looks smaller than the Challenger, and even a little shorter, but as wide as the Mustang Camaro.
Also, this MONTREAL sketch could be tipping some cues to an up and coming production vehicle....it not! Hmmmm....
Bajanboy... I just thought I should mention it since some people seem to have come in on the second page!
If so, I hope it has digital displays to fill in the missing visuals in those pillars... apparently people in those days never changed lanes.
Haha,... Or they just did what they do now... Close their eyes and hope for the best.... Indicators be damned.
Am I the only one who sees the back of a Fiero?
Wheelbase 2.35 m (92.5 in)
Length 4.22 m (166.1 in)
Width 1.672 m (65.8 in)
Height 1.205 m (47.4 in)
Kerb weight 1,270 kg (2,800 lb)
l guess they did, Dave, but it was originally meant to be mid engined
It was the same designer if I'm not mistaken.
