I guess you do not understand the tactic of "diversion".

Rather than speculate, I think we should just ask outright what is currently being done. Trust me (software engineer who deals with this crap a lot), speculation is a rabbit hole of possible problems/solutions.

If they are having trouble locking it down, I could offer my services to Autoguide for my consulting rate.

Perhaps Autoguide likes the high post count coming from the spam? More posts might equal higher as rates.

That is a very common tactic.

My only concern is the security of our donations information.

While I appreciate the diligence of the moderation team, you guys are fighting against the current here. This needs to be resolved through server/application configuration changes rather than deleting spam posters. They will keep coming until something prevents them from easily spamming.

Has the server administration team said what they are going to do to alleviate this?

It is laughable to come here and see the rampant spam and the moderators trying to clean it up.

Allpar is vulnerable and nobody is doing anything about it except brushfire management. Very sad.

Dave would have handled this after the first day.

Makes me nervous about having a credit card (albeit I've since cancelled the card that was connected to this site) on file here.

It should be a straightforward administrative function to do that. No idea why not.

What some of us feared when VerticalScope, Inc. took over - the forum is now poorly managed. VerticalScope, Inc. has a history of failing to protect its websites and the information for its registered users.

    Sad.

Now it started early. The "member" just joined and is spamming like crazy in projects, mods and restoration.

Allpar is becoming the laughing-stock of auto websites.

This has been going on for more than a month on a daily (sometimes more than once per day) event.

But the mods clean it up and nobody cares.

I wonder if VerticalScope is not addressing spam because the extra hits increases their advertising revenue. Does anyone have any idea how much money that would involve? Hundreds? Several thousands?
