GME T4 D = GME T4 DOHC = Global Medium Engine turbocharged 4 cylinders double over head camshafts
GME T4 M = GME T4 MultiAir = Global Medium Engine turbocharged 4 cylinders MultiAir

    All have gasoline direct injection.

That's very likely the purpose of the "DoorDows" (Dibs on the name :p).

As someone who wouldn't really want to take the doors of a Wrangler (personal preference), this is the perfect solution for me.

Anybody know if the JL will have a chocolate brown color option? I'd love to have one in that color! I initially thought this was brown, but it's not.

My bad, you learn something new everyday!

Even still, that would mean it's been some 25+ years since we've had this option (as far as I'm aware). In hindsight, the Jeep Safari concept kinda "leaked" this early on.

What I find really surprising is how they managed to cut the bolt count from 28 to 4 for the windshield. Now that's ease of removal!
Somewhere on this site I thought there was a color list/chart or something. It might've been stated in the owners manual too (which someone managed to save a copy of it somewhere on here). I'll see if I can find anything on this (someone might get to it before I do though).

    Thanks! Glad to help.

So, did a little digging and I couldn't find anything in the Owner's Manual about colors (unsurprising, but I had to look). The User Guide didn't have anything either. What I did find was this post on the JLWrangler Forum (a post that I had saw about a month or two ago): 2018 Wrangler info from FCA dealers meeting (diesel, colors, debut, power sliding top, etc.) (at http://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/2018-wrangler-info-from-fca-dealers-meeting-diesel-colors-debut-power-sliding-top-etc.1229/ )

(Check out this post if you want to see what the colors are supposed to look like. The photos are photoshopped though, so the final colors are likely going to look a little bit different): More 2018 Wrangler JL Colors Coming - Nacho, Mojito!, Punk'n, Ocean Blue, Sting-Gray (with renders) (at http://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/more-2018-wrangler-jl-colors-coming-nacho-mojito-punkn-ocean-blue-sting-gray-with-renders.1625/ )

While it's unfortunate that there isn't a Brown in there, I'd wait for the Wrangler Pickup/Scrambler to come around. There's a chance they'll add some more colors (whether Brown will be added once the pickup shows up/be exclusive to just the pickup is what I don't know). That's purely a theory though.

You could also wait for the 2019 model year as well. New colors could be added then too.

So, starting from a common basis with the 2.0 installed on Giulia and Stelvio, they developed an engine specific for this brand. Very good, so they preserve the specificity of AlfaRomeo products/engine, while sharing most of development/building costs and advantages. It seems to me that they're working the right way.

I would translate this as... There is no Inline 6 GME. There will be a V6 GME. New engine block compared to Pentastar. More compact and capable for higher specific power capacity.

The JK 4-door Sahara starts at 45,000 Euros, which is 53,000 USD. That's the price of a BMW X3 in the same market.

In contrast, the same vehicle starts at around 30,000 USD in the USA, which is 25,000 Euros.

If you put them in relation to the average yearly income, the picture becomes even worse.

I don't expect the JL to be cheaper. Paired with probably no availability of the 2.2L diesel, that means they will continue to sell basically none (around 300 a month) in all of Europe. What a shame for such a nice vehicle.

yes, "preserve the specificity of AlfaRomeo products/engine", but more importantly for both Alfa and the Jeep engines better tuned to their purpose. Meaning they are staying to true to setting and keeping program parameters. I agree they are doing it the right way.

GME TT V6 ... I'm assuming they keep the cylinder size the same so a 3.0 GME TT V6.

Is this because they were struggling with how to fit the I6 in certain places? Is the I6 still viable?

Another question, do the wipers need to be removed to drop the windshield? It seems necessary

Would we really expect them to put the full torque of the diesel in the Jeep? I have to imagine it would be de-tuned a bit right?

EDIT: Well, didn't realize it was part of the official reveal news... Wow. Take my money Jeep...
