Personally, I like the idea of having separate dealerships for Jeep, Dodge/Ram, or Chrysler/Alfa Romeo. I have always felt the all in one dealer was a bad idea. It allows you to do twins (300/Charger) on a platform without competing directly in the showroom. If they’re going to keep all the brands they need to optimize the platforms and showrooms.

North of Boston, Kelly Jeep Chrysler has been constructing a standalone Jeep showroom for some time. Just received an e-mail this week advertising the new facility. Doubt that they'd retain the old building next door just for Chrysler, so guess this franchise is becoming Jeep-only.

Just as a side note, I remember years ago when my dad had a house down near Bethany Beach in Delaware and there were townhouses going up near him that were behind a Food Lion grocery store. The view out their front door would be the dumpsters behind the Food Lion. And they started at $500k and up. No thank you. Lol.

We have a brand new dealership that will open in a couple of weeks with the seperate Jeep showroom. They even have display pads that are seperate from CDR section. 20200829_153836.jpg 20200829_153812.jpg

Yea a separate show room for 1 and a half models doesn't make sense.

But Chrysler thinks they have four models: Pacifica, Pacifica Hybrid, Voyager, and 300.

    1) Renegade
    2) Compass
    3) Cherokee
    4) Grand Cherokee
    5) Wagoneer
    6) Grand Wagoneer
    7) Gladiator
    8) Wrangler
    9) Wrangler Unlimited

They need a separate showroom for Jeep ... they need space. Even more if they want to add a section for "green" jeeps (electrified ones) or just show some of the different trim levels ;-)

The known "green" ones are for now

Renegade 4xe (will be distributed in U.S.A.?)
    Compass 4xe
    Wrangler 4xe (?)
    Wrangler Unlimited 4xe

Interesting counts, though if we're splitting Wagoneer from Grand Wagoneer and Wrangler from Wrangler Unlimited, I could argue that Ram 1500 should be considered at least four different vehicles on its own... Ram dealers should have their own space too! There's so many of them now. (ProMaster cargo van and ProMaster window wagon, too.)

Dodge and Chrysler together could be combined with Alfa and still not be as extensive as Ram or Jeep.

    1) Renegade
    2) Compass
    3) Cherokee
    4) Grand Cherokee
    5) Wagoneer
    6) Grand Wagoneer
    7) Gladiator
    8) Wrangler
    9) Wrangler Unlimited

    1) Charger
    2) Challenger
    3) Journey (RIP soon)
    4) Caravan (Canada only)
    5) Durango

    1) 1500
    2) 2500/3500
    3) Chassis cab
    4) ProMaster
    5) ProMaster City
    6) Old 1500

    1) 300
    2) Pacifica

    1) 500
    2) 500L
    3) 500X
    4) Fiata

    1) Stelvio
    2) 4C
    3) Giulia

    You missed Voyager... ;)

Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited is really just one nameplate. Just like Civic coupe, sedan and hatchback, or Mustang coupe and convertible. On the other hand, there’s a host of 3-row Jeeps coming. Are they going to be labeled Unlimited? Grand? XL?

Aren’t 500, 500L and Fiata RIP as well?

    Is “Toe nail” still coming?

CDR will be one dealership (just R justifies it), Jeep is another.

It's mostly to take Jeep upmarket, away from everyone else. Have you guys taken a look at $RACE's market cap recently?

I have this feeling that Renegade may not last going forward in the US. Unknown if it will be a Jeep only vehicle in the EU.

Everything Jeep will be Giorgio except for Compass, while Wagoneer is DT. The writing is already on the wall via these dealership changes.

Alfa Romeo 4C is not more in the lineup in Europe (they had not updated the engine or replaced with the 2.0).
Rumors are that end of production is by the end of 2020, maybe is already ended the production.

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta will go out of produtcion by the end of the year.
    The Mito already gone.

So in the website in Europe they put as lineup for Alfa Romeo.

    New Giulia GTA
    Quadrifoglio
    Stelvio
    Giulia
    Giulietta
    Tonale concept

Translated = Giulia, Stelvio and Giulietta (till end of 2020).
January 2021 (or before) Giulia and Stelvio.

The speed of Alfa refreshes and product launches speak for itself. They functionally cannot compete in this marketplace.

To be fair, I’m not sure if PSA vehicles with Chrysler badges with updated styling and interiors would either.

We are at the point of an economic cycle where credit has defined niches, which has defined premium prices, which has defined product planning.

Many high net worth finance types have tried to predict the reset of the cycle and have lost billions in the process. I don’t think Stellantis Product Planning is going to thread the needle with timing this either.

I will disagree on the Renegade not lasting here in the US Market. I see tons of them on the road and with the last two updates the 18 model getting the refreshed interior and the 19 models getting the new 1.3l. We love our Renegade and it has fit into our lifestyle perfectly.

I think they will keep the Renegade. Look at the competition- their CUV offerings are split just as finely as Jeep's.

@MJAB - 4C is built in Modena, which is currently being re-tooled for MC20. Production probably has finished.

I think they will try to keep Renegade going and soon you'll see why I think that. Also, it's only an incremental cost.
