This is either media sensationalism or something else is afoot.

Marchionne has shoulder surgery and everyone is scrambling to decide who does what?

This surgery was not unexpected, so why wouldn't you already have a plan for continued functionality of the company in advance?

Lastly, why schedule surgery before the call and not right after?

    Something here seems odd.

Apparently Sergio's health condition is a very serious. Rumor says lung cancer.

Yes, let’s hope that a civil war doesn’t break out over who gets to sit on the iron throne...oh...wait...that’s Game of Thrones...never mind. :p

Edit: hopefully SM is ok and doing well. If it truly is lung cancer, it can be brutal depending on which kind it is. God speed.

I wouldn’t look at Public Relations for unfolding news.

PR’s role is to make an official statement after the organization had time to spin, process and approve release of the information.

Horrible news. I hope everything works out for Marchionne and that he has a speedy recovery if the sources are true...

Hate to see it happen like this... not a good situation.

While I have my own personal issues with Mr. Marchionne, I do wish him well in whatever health issues he may be having.

Manley will do fine. Wishing the best for Sergio, fact remains that if it wasn't for him there wouldn't be an FCA. He liked to do heavy lifting which was done around 10 years ago, after everything was in place he seemed to kinda lose interest but is now a staple of Chrysler history.

I’m very excited about Manley and he was the one I was wanting to be CEO.

Best wishes to Sergio and I hope his medical condition improves.
