That is for the soft top. I Thought the rear quarters were removable on the Freedom Top (hard top) and was asking if the rear lift glass was removable as well, effectively turning the hard top into a hard bikini. Thanks for the pictures though.

If not already answered the power slide back top is the only one that allows the rear window panels to be removed. All other Freedom tops keep the traditional design. Soft top surrounds have been reworked and believe even fewer people will be removing them completely unless you get the dual top option. The rear surrounds are designed so that the lower rear half can be easily removed without having to remove the full surround. For the 4dr this gives almost the same open feeling the current JK has with the surrounds removed.

Did I miss a picture of the half door uppers somewhere?

They're still in prototype phase, so I don't think there are pics yet. If there even are uppers. The only other thing we've learned is there's no window in the half-doors thus the ability to put a hole in the door.

Correct. The hole has an insert and as Mark noted allows some creative ideas for the aftermarket. The uppers will be the same drop in soft window design currently used in the JK ( assume of better material and appearance). This is based off what I have been told but cannot confirm. Maybe 98% confident.

I like it. My avatar name is from one of the B-25s that flew off the deck of the USS Hornet at the start of WWII.

This was very interesting that I didn't catch:

"And as if the SUV isn’t tough enough, Goodyear will supply two tire sizes for the 2018 Wrangler with Kevlar. Goodyear’s Wrangler AT Adventure tires with Kevlar maximize the tires’ strength and traction in wet and snowy conditions. The 2018 Wrangler also boasts Goodyear’s Durawall technology to prevent cuts in the tire’s sidewall."

I was thinking they would be useful for oars on water crossings.

It's nice to hear someone happy with the power of a 4 cyl Jeep product. Even though he can't discuss a lot till Dec. 13th, he was impressed...

The lack of head room at 0:35 is shocking. I had heard that the JL has less comfort for tall drivers, but that image is scary. I'm 6'3" and I was very comfy in my JKUs...but this new model doesn't look as promising.

They got some nice undercarriage video of the 2.0 as well. Honestly the best part about it is the inline design which FINALLY pulls us back to the days of the 4.0 and 2.5L's that didn't have the exhaust crossover like the 3.6L does. This eliminates the crazy exhaust routing that is underneath the 3.6, and allows for more clearance and FAR less concerns about debris-accumulation near the exhaust (and thus fire) when offroading. The exhaust just heads straight back along the driver frame rail. That's fantastic! I would far prefer this motor over the 3.6 for that reason alone, especially given the similar performance characteristics of the two.
