I’ve posted before that there probably won’t be much left to reveal at the end of this month...but...has this diminished anybody’s excitement for the new JL? The more I think about it, I know it hasn’t for me. The more I see, the more I want to see!

    Jeepaholic...that’s me. :D

The public will not be able to get enough of this Wrangler. They will fly out the door. And in my observation, it seems, for people buying Wrangler, money is no object.

Are the seatbelts built into the seat now?? Always hate the seatbelt flap driving doorless. I also like the molle loop attachments on the back of the seat.

We also have '19 Wrangler options to be announced inc. the diesel.

Going to be a great couple years and I am sure Jeep (FCA) will milk it for all it's worth.

    Can't wait!!!

Great point, forgot about that on my JK.

I love the new interior. Very sexy!

I know. With these new engine choices, it's going to be sweet. I see plenty on the road now and a lot of them aren't cheap. The Wrangler, now as it stands, is still a pretty raw vehicle. Right now, it's not really for everyone. But, with all the added features people seem to want nowadays above the drive train (Like heated seats, steering wheel, power windows, touch screen, start/stop, adapt cruise, cameras, etc) they will eat that right up!
I'd like to see, in the near future, (Jeepers will hate me for saying this) an Unlimited model, with the 4 cyl hurricane, AWD (soft road version) with the fixed roof. I might be able to do that for a purchase.

A big improvement for offroad will be the gear ratios, even more with the ZF 8 speed automatic of second generation.

Ratios available with second generation ZF 8HP
    5.000 3.200 2.143 1.720 1.314 1.000 0.822 0.640 3.456
    (or as first generation 4.714 3.143 2.106 1.667 1.285 1.000 0.839 0.667 3.300)

Not only potentially improve crawl ratio (1st gear), but also have more intermediate low gear useful out of tarmac.

Great pictures, thank you for updating the thread. A welcome addition, for me, are the grab handles in the front.

The new interior will take some getting used to compared to my ‘12 but what a wonderful problem to have!

Maybe I missed it, but did we figure out what the bump is on the side of the taillight?

Note the awesome 6-speed manual shifter knob with the since 1941 on the side of it.

So we know that the Wrangler Unlimited JL gains 2.4" of wheelbase (118.4") over the JK's (116"). While the 2-door JL gains 1.4" of wheelbase (96.8") over the JK's (95.4"). The over width on JL is .2" wider (73.9") compared to JK's 73.7".

JL is longer than it's JK counterparts as well. Unlimited JL models (188.2"), while the JK's are 3.3" shorter (184.9") in length. The 2-door JL (166.6") in legth while it's JK counterpart was 2.3" shorter (164.3").

The red ring immediately under the shift knob looks like a reverse lockout that you would have to pull up on.

Slightly longer wheelbase with larger tires than previous would keep angles from getting worse, thus helping maintain superior capability.

Today marked the first day for the JLs with no camo in Auburn Hills and testing teams in Colorado...
