Great ads, though none of those vehicles would be my first choice for driving around on sand. :D

When I was a kid, we used to take our Escorts out on some of the beaches in Delaware for surf casting. Deflated the tires a bit, and we were good to go for the most part. We used a bicycle pump to reinflate when we were done (forearms of STEEL! :D). Actually I’ve used the bike pump in a pinch on all our vehicles, even my old Liberty. It takes a bit of grunt, and some extra time, but it did the trick when I didn’t have a portable compressor handy.

Lee Petty used to drive the family car on the beach before the racetrack was built nearby.
