Read lower in the post, they actually answered that it is a rendering. Odds are yes, it's a 3D rendering.

Been some new spy shots running around of the 2dr (with soft tops) and the one thing not noted has been the standard 7" current style headlight on the base model. Looks like a good bit of the old JK stays around. The LED headlights are for the upper models.

This is good news for some aftermarket products. It appears the same type of good old 7" headlights remain for one more model.

Renegade style? The Wrangler will have square taillights and the LEDs in them for running lights will mock the jerry can design....

I think I understand what you are saying @redriderbob.

So red LED's will produce the Jerry can reference and then when the brake light is hit or turn signal the full taillight will go red.

    Close?

This random shot from instagram that was posted yesterday was from someone who spotted a JL prototype in Florida outside Miami.

I said way back when it was announced that the JKs were getting LEDs that they'd carry over to the JL.

Though a mystery to most, scientists have observed some similarities between the JL and other members of the Jeep family - a strong taste for gasoline being one of the foremost similarities. :p

    Agree,
What I was saying is that its not across the line for all models. The old style headlights are also being used in the JL.
The general thinking was that the JL was getting LED's as in all the Wranglers. That was what i was tying to say.

Sorry if I was unclear on that.

As far as I know, Rubicon and Sahara models are the only ones getting LED headlights standard. Tail lights will be standard LEDs across the board as well as the turn signals. Just like JK, it can be optional on lower level models to upgrade to the LED headlights for a small amount.

Just wonder what is going on at the rear end. Every picture we see has the back end heavily covered for some reason.

Anywhere there are important styling elements that they do not want known or special features will remain covered until they feel its time for us to know. Bits and pieces to keep the interests up.

I wonder if the folks driving the mules ever get weirded out by people staring at them and taking pics/videos...like some creepy paparazzi. Not that I have anything against automotive paparazzi...:)
