That's a Grand Commander with new wheels and some photoshopped parts.

If they were trying to just get somewhat close to the Grand Cherokee, it's still not there. Roof doesn't slope down enough in the back, D-pillar is too upright, it has clear FWD proportions with huge overhangs, and the front end isn't vertical enough. Also, the body line going from the headlights to the tail lights does not disappear into the front fender like it does on this rendering.

D-pillar shape on WL looks similar to the old Wagoneers.

Why couldn't that be a Chrysler mid-sized SUV?

I believe the Grand Commander is riding on an orphaned platform, or set of dimensions & components, if you will, so I don't see them investing in a plant to produce it here in North America. But I have no idea obviously, just speculation.

I swore I would never again get conned by these spy shot articles which are always camo-ed snaps that tell zero about what's upcoming. And once again....

You'd think getting that breathless headline on the covers of Motor Trend every year back in the '60s and '70s I'd be immune, but noooooooooo.

Looks like any other SUV covered in black plastic. Sorry if I just roll my eyes and don't get all jacked up over......nothing.

I always liked Volvo and Jeep because the styling was conservative. One reason I hated the KL Cherokee.

"Cherokee" isn't a racial slur, and the Cherokee Nation is officially fine with Jeep's use of their name. It's a completely different situation.

Not only is that not the Grand Wagoneer (the link has 'Grand Wagoneer' in the title), that is the five passenger 2022 Grand Cherokee (WL74), not even long enough to be the seven passenger Grand Cherokee (WL75). That picture is old, from May or early June.

And the Grand Wagoneer will have six lug wheels, not five.

If you zoom in on the picture and look at the top right corner you will see a new looking Jeep.

You mean the black WK2 Overland?

Or the one backed into the spot partially hidden by the tree? That's a Durango.
