Ewww.. The Texas belt buckle badges were bad, but holy crap man.. They could've done so much better. Bleh.

I could deal if it was stamped into the metal of the tailgate & painted black, but that chrome crap has got to stop. Seriously.

I WAS pondering a 2015 or 2016 1500, but I just don't know! I don;t really need one to put a Sea-Doo ina nd out of the water.
My 2005 Liberty does it just fine. too bad the rust is bubbling around the windsheild.
I don't mind the tailgate as much as the grill.
It looks like it is trying to be a Ford.

Utterly terrible . . . was did FCA think Ram needed to be a "me too" and rival Ford's obnoxious grille? The Ram Runner grille and tailgate are equally obnoxious. Horrid styling choice. Let's just HOPE the standard grille will be an easy swap and the tailgate letter are only stuck on with no holes in the sheet metal.

tailgates.jpg Wow, I thought the chrome (stainless) bars across the tailgates went away in the 1980s or 1990s. I recall looking at a new 1987 Dodge Dakota LE and getting the SE instead just to avoid the "tacky" tailgate trim so common on Dodge and Ford pickups of the era. And now we have a modern version of it! That was one styling trick I'd thought was long gone.

I keep coming back and hoping it will grow on me like the Cherokee did.

    Yeah, it's not happening.

It's different... But it is really not that bad.

Shows that Ram really is looking to break away from the old crosshair style. It's not a bad thing.

I think it would look better blacked out.

That's what happens when you ask a Toyota designer what to do. Gaudy, awkward, unnecessary, bizarre...this kind of reminds me of what was done to the 1958s, just change for change's sake. Fortunately it's just this one trim level. Let's hope it doesn't migrate (infect?) the rest of the lineup.

Yes, possibly. My point is, I think people are over reacting a little. ;)

Did you not see the Rebel? Ram is trying different looks.

We all knew this was coming, they dropped hints in advertising last year.

Note the sheep head is long gone

    That's what I was thinking.

It's an improvement over the Rebel grill, but that bar was set pretty low.

I like the Ram emblem and prefer it, but I think I could get used to RAM being spelled out. Just get rid of the weird lines and geometrical shapes. If they are going to spell out RAM is still like to see the cross hair incorporated. I'm not crazy about it now, but I think I could get used to having RAM on the tailgate.
    Overall it's a step backwards.

Wow - terrible. How hard is it to make lines match up? For goodness sake, it's a simple thing. Those nostrils are about 3/4" too high and don't line up with the head lights. It makes it look way worse... It's like the tailights on the Challenger. The center section was always higher...

The "RAM" on the tailgate is tacky. People are still going to call it a Dodge, despite all the "RAM" badges. That stuff takes time - no reason to ruin the truck's looks. Why do I get the feeling it's not just big stick-on letters that could be removed?

The look works better, but still doesn't really work, on the HDs with larger hoods.

Doing away with the crosshair would have been fine, but doing this? Good grief, people were finally taking Ram seriously - they won't be for much longer, though...

This may be worse than the new Titan, because Ram has always been known for having good looking trucks, and the expectation for styling is way higher for Ram than it is for Nissan...

I deal with the same thinking for aftermarket products... I'm not a fan of punching you in the eyeballs with your name.

"" Those nostrils are about 3/4" too high and don't line up with the head lights "" ding...ding...ding.... Winner statement. That was the first thing that I saw as well.... Was not sure if it was just me.
