if your tank total capacity is 60 litres, the warning light will come on when 52 litres have been used and you have therefore 8 litres left to find a filling station.

often this 8 litres is called "reserve fuel".

if you fill the neck tube has no influence, as the warning comes on when 8 litres is left in your tank.

Ah, thank you, no the filler neck tube would have no influence when the warning light comes on. But, the filler neck tube would represent potential fuel you could put into the vehicle above the capacity of the fuel tank, I was speculating perhaps that is what reserve meant. And it couldn't have been since there is very, very few filler necks tube so long it can add even a full gallon, let alone 2 gallons on top of the capacity of the tank.

Reserve fuel warning light is when is time to start to search a gas station, well with diesel car one can wait more.
The problem is when the car You drive doesn't have a warning ligth as the cars one is used to drive :)

Once was very usefull for diesel vehicles, since one could avoid that the dirty fuel or water started to flow in fuel lines. Once diesel fuel blends where dirtier, well at least here in Europe are cleaner now.

I remember when I first got my 01 XJ. I was well practiced with how far I could go in my 89 XJ when the fuel lights came on.
That didn't translate over to the 01. Ran out of gas shortly after buying while headed to fill it up.
I have never been able to squeeze more (even when I ran out) than 18 gallons in it even if I fill the filler neck.

Now the XJ is supposed to have a 20 gallon tank.
So either the fuel pump pickup tube is extra short leaving lots of unusable fuel in the tank or it isn't a 20 gallon tank.

I Wish they had to label fuel capacity like they have to label screen size.
TV's and monitors now have to list viewable screen size.

I want fuel tanks listed in usable gallons.

Anyone notice the wheel/tire sizes yet? I need to figure out if ContiExtremeContact DWS is available or if I'm gonna have to find a new favorite all-season tire.

FCA Designer Ryan Patrick Joyce took this amazing picture of both the MP compass and MK compass together. And this is the first time that both vehicles have been photographed next to each other. Gives you an idea of the size difference and how much evolution is actually in the styling.

Hmm, a 2017 Compass vs a 2017 Compass... must be one of those trick mirrors :D.

Damn, look at the difference of the gaps in the hood of the old generation versus the new.

Two completely different hood designs. A larger gap is normal for a clamshell style hood.

For sure, but large gaps look worse and pass an impression of lower perceived assembly quality. Especially in a segment like this. So the new one looks more well put together.

Look what just arrived! Ordering is now open for Compass in Canada - they arrive early Q2 according to the source.
