Nice. It was a regular and now it's back.

The Pentastar is a great engine. I've had several.

Wish we could do the same with our 4 cylinder engines.

I agree. I’m very happy with the Pentastar in my JL: it’s preppy, smooth and refined.

I’m glad I found a JL with the V6. Over 80% of JLs out there now have the 2.0T.

I agree. The 2018 Wrangler 2.0T rental I had was a great highway Wrangler and it got 2500 miles on it within a week. Though the extra fuel economy didn't really do more than cover the cost of regular vs. premium. I wanted to take it on a trail down in Georgia but the timing didn't cooperate.

The 2.0T has many places it should be, just not sure a Wrangler is one of them.

I love the 3.6 in my 20 Durango . It's quiet and smooth and really moves in this application . The 8 speed 850RE has transformed this engine and is a wonderful auto . The 3.6 in our 14 Grand Caravan is kind of course and buzzy but we had few issues with it thru 100000 miles . The 6 speed they used in that application made it seem mediocre at best so the 8 speed really made this engine shine .

Yeah, the 6-speed auto in my dad’s Journey R/T ain’t very good either. Not that’s given any problems, but it ain’t very responsive or smooth.

Aside from the cylinder head needing to be replaced even though that was not supposed to happen in my late '13 JKU, my Pentastar has been good to me overall with 66k on the clock as we speak.

I was getting my oil changed at an oil change place and the guy told me he has a regular customer with over 600,000 miles on his Pentastar van

Wow 600,000 is impressive. On a van that's insane. Pentastar went in the vans in what? 2011? How much seat time does that guy get!?!?

When I bought my Pentastar in 2013, I had not researched the reliability of it but what a great engine it's been. It's as worry free as the Ford 302, Chevy 305 or Chrysler 318 V8 that every kid's dad in middle America had in the 80s!

He's some kind of delivery guy I guess. Synthetic oil brought it up.

It seems alot of folks don't like the 6 speed. In my 2016 Caravan its been smooth as silk and I am very happy with it. MY older 05 caravan with the 4speed has been good too but the 6 speed is alot better.

I am about to pull the trigger on a 2020 wrangler with the Pentastar, and they are harder to find than the 2.0T.

I hope its as good as my 3.8 has been in my 2010, 220k miles with no issues...

First Wrangler had the first offering in the JK. went 140K before i sold it, but also had to replace the cooler housing. Had oil leaking out and overflowing the back of the block. Looked like a bad leaking rear main. Had good luck with that one. On my second with the new Gladiator. Honestly the one engine offered with a proven track record. The new 8speed really helps to make it even better in the JL/JT.

I'm really glad to hear that because I have 125k on my 2013 and its been amazing so far (aside from a rocker arm tick that I haven't gotten around to fixing). I've been really impressed by the 8 speed Pentastar combo.

I've had 4 P-star engines. Challenger, JKU, JLU, and a JT. None of them have ever burned a drop of oil. They've also never broken down and never needed repairs. The JKU did suffer from casting sand clogging up the heater core, but that's the fault of the manufacturing process, not the engine design.
