Is that the wreck where he barrel-rolled into the pit wall? Am I remembering correctly that that was the wreck that brought the window net requirement?

If it is a Nichels car, isn't it a left over winged car that he built for the Pettys?

Whose is the #18 Mopar? Joe Frasson maybe?

Yes, the car he wrecked out of 4 and then into the pit wall. There are videos of the wreck. Freeze it as he rolls and you will see the control arms under the car!! No, not a Bird, just a specific Nichels built short track car. The Bird in his Museum has remnants of the control arm mounts under it! Yup, a recycled short track Road Runner.
    #18 is Joe.

Hmmmm, interesting. I never knew that Petty ran any Nichels built cars except for the 2 winged cars.

So the Pettys had 3 Nichels' cars then - the 2 Superbirds and one short track car ?
