2009 Journey SE. Anyone know if the power steering system has a filter/screen and where. I've seen that some Caravans have a screen in the fluid reservoir that gets dirty and causes pump noise. With 90k mine has developed a little whine, wondering if the Journey uses a similar setup.

I believe that there if a non-serviceable mesh screen in the reservoir. Use ATF+4 as a fluid. A fluid flush/change sometimes helps with P/S noise issues (if it has never been done before). If the ATF+4 is darkened, change it.
If the screen is restricted with debris, replace the reservoir.

Typically, Journey power steering lines explode long before the fluid is an issue so you get new fluid when they fix it.
