Rat Rods

    I totally hate them and this thing with patina is ugly, that is my opinion.

    AMEN BROTHER, PREACH IT! Does not take much effort or imagination. (They might not agree with my opinion but it is also my opinion).

    I bought my Charger and drove it with its "patina" for years until I could finally get it painted. No way I was going to pay for a paint job that was going to make it look old and beat up. To each his own, but I too am mystified by the whole rat rod thing.

    I understand the difference between a work in progress and a rat rod. They are not in the same category.

    Rat rod should be but is intended to be ratty forever.

    Isn't there a difference between rat rod and these cosmetic crapcans? I thought a rat rod was a car that worked but looked like crap, while whatever these other things are are centered around looks and not function.

    I dont care for the Rat Rod look myself. Once the funds are available, my old car will be looking shiny and new.
