Does this mean Mopar to Nascar, using RCR and Petty as the way in, prospects are dead?
Been teh rumor in the NASCAR circle for awhile now and bob brought it up a month or two ago.
Yep, I was just wondering with the supposed confirm of going to chevy would preclude any ability of Mopar using those teams in the near future.
Is it possible that it's a short term deal of some type, with the Teams already thinking of switching again, if there's the ability to do so, if/when Mopar does want back in?
Rcr only has a year left on their current contract with chevy, they didn't help any with the new body camaro, but they are getting one and letting buba use it apparently. Bob and many others have said expect and announcement at daytona that dodge is coming back then the michigan race for more info
I hope to God that is whats happenning with the RCR/Petty partnership. I have not watched Nascar since BK won the title. Dodge has the fastest cars in the market right now and need to be on the track.
Dodge is on the track... every weekend at local dragstrips across the country, enlarging the foundation that they produce real performance vehicles, not common chassis cars with a fake street car body wrapped around it with non-production engines under the hood.
Yes, it looks like they are headed back to wasting lots of money in NASCAR.
Of coarse it would be great if Nascar would go back to its roots and run cars pretty much off the shelf, but everyone knows thats not happenning. I just want them back to give me a reason to watch Nascar again. I enjoyed Mopar winning in other forms of racing as well. Just miss them in Nascar.
I got better things to do on the weekend now.
Good for you, Mike. But I for one plan on enjoying every second of what is likely coming.
Richard Petty Motorsports switching from Ford to Chevrolet, aligning with Childress (at http://www.espn.com/jayski/cup/2017/story/_/id/21699637/richard-petty-motorsports-switching-ford-chevrolet-aligning-childress )
More power to you, whether Dodge is there or not the points system and rules stink. NASCAR will continue to struggle.
No MoPar in Nascar.
What is the purpose of a post like this? Especially coming from a moderator.
Did he say anything that was untrue?
Just like when people said baseball would die after the 1994 strike, we agree NASCAR will never be what it was but it's not going anywhere anytime soon.
I've watched Richard Petty and Dodge in NASCAR since I was a kid. That is what stoked my interest in DODGE, then all things MOPAR, then all things ALLPAR. We may not all agree on NASCAR, and believe me, I have my issues but it is part of Americana
Mike’s opinion was well, and evenly stated. He did not flame anyone. He just expressed his opinion about NASCAR. I somewhat agree with him, but I tend to come down more o the pro NASCAR side of things than Mike.
That said, NASCAR has serious issues it needs to address. The generation that will be driving NASCAR revenues intwenty years could largely care less about it.
Just like the good old days..............
That is a decal I have not seen in years.
