The main problem, in my opinion, in Sergio Marchionne era is that he put himself at head of NAFTA area. A CEO cannot be at head of no area, otherwise he has not far enough vision of the whoe company. Another big problem is that he didn't, always my opinion, had no exact idea of what engineers / managers experience and mahegerial capacity had the managers they were at work at Chrysler (You, for example, can be techical a good engineer, but a not so great manager). How much engineers / managers left Chrysler when Mercedes went away? And with Cerberus? In last years they started to move some managers from elsewere to U.S.A. and the opposite. That should have been done since first years. Than there is the marketing sector / products line selection, that is anothewr word. Many times it is difficult to understand choices made by that part of companies (and unfortunately they have in last decades too much power).
