How difficult would it be to use a supercharger from the 454 vortec motors on a 340 with a carburetor. Found a decent couple online.

Couple things to make sure of. Intake manifold that will attach the components together, or make one. Second, is the engine itself. All forged components to hold up to the extra power (pistons and crank, rods themselves are good for around 500+ hp), and then components to set up the belt itself to run the blower. Anything is possible, it just depends on how much money and time you have to do it.

The early 340's came from the factory with high compression. It's time to do some research!

They are a bit difficult for carb use since they have inlet and outlet at the ends giving difficulties with fuel fall out in the the intake.
    - with efi they should do great ( and get comp down to 7-8:1 so you can charge it..)
