You gotta be kidding me. (Time for another facepalm) These people, I suspect, are among those who think Satan comes around because you mention his name. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. He roams like a hungry lion, seeking those he may devour.
*I do like the concept of a god button to engage insane or ludicrous mode...
Maybe FCA will call a model a Fallen Angel...

EDIT. Wow. Really like the Viper powered concept with that shaker hood...

All of these hand wringing Bible thumpers need to find something with vastly more world importance than a car manufacturer's name choice to rant and rave about. They're just making themselves look petty and stupid.

Vern says, "Did y'all ever get that guy out of that fancy new Dodge that was wrapped around the tree?"

The Sheriff responds, "Yeah, but we had a heckuva time getting his hands off the steering wheel. As dead as he was, we just couldn't seem to pry his hands from around it. Oh, and the funeral was really awkward."

    Vern, "How so Sheriff?"

Sheriff, "Well, at the viewing, the guy was in the casket, and he looked happy as heck to be dead. The funeral parlor couldn't get the big goofy grin off his face. He was lying there smiling back at everybody with this big dumb grin."

I'd guess that the FCA/Dodge marketing folks remember the reaction to the '71-'72 Demon. As silly as it seems to complain about a name, a company has a pragmatic reason to accommodate such objections. That too many buyers might just shut up and buy a GM or Ford product instead. However, the mass-market, Slant-Six-powered Duster clone was a different beast altogether. The new Demon probably won't attract buyers who hate the name, anyway.

Perhaps use the Angel on a new Plymouth? Yeah, I'm dreaming. It'd sure bait the hecklers among my coworkers, though.

OT: Noticed the spell checker flags FCA but not GM. The software writers need to get up to speed. (On my first PC, Windows '95 tagged Chrysler but not Acura. :()

Angel would be a great name for some sort of "Assistance" program within FCA vehicles

It is really is quite simple. First the the Hellcat. Then the Demon. Then the Avenging Angel. One stroke of marketing genius followed by another and another.

If I read one more thing about a Charger going to have the Angel name, I am going to pull the rest of my hair out.
