I was a Hemi baby. I guess I was destined to drive a Mopar. I've certainly driven my share.
Happy Birthday! I guess along that line of thinking, some folks are happy to have been born on the 20th? LOL
My birthday is Wednesday (29th). Maybe I should have been a Ford fan.
I celebrated your birthday a gift for myself!
I had just showed up at Homestead AFB when the brand new 426 V-8 took as I recall 6 of the 7 top spots at the Daytona 500. That got NASCAR's attention.
FWIW, from the news:
On 4-26 each year, we celebrate Hemi Day—remembering the legendary 426 Hemi engine, rated at 425 horsepower in street form. The “elephant engine” dominated street and strip alike for many years; and Mopar has developed crate engines for racers and people who just want to retrofit their vintage muscle.
Allpar has numerous pages devoted to the 426 Hemi, but before we send you off down those links, it’s worth noting that the site’s founder has slashed the price of his minivan book (yes, you read that right) from $6.99 to $2.99 for the occasion—just for this one day, and only the Apple Books version. The book covers the minivan from the early days in 1972-73, when designers started talking about making a new version of their popular “B-vans,” all the way to 2020. Writing about the earlier version of the book (dubbed Mopar Minivans), Automotive News’ Larry Vellequette wrote, “Zatz uses the people who were there to retell, in vivid detail, the largely forgotten story of how this innovative people-mover evolved into a quintessential piece of American family life for two generations.” Grab a copy now, while you can.
Moving back to the 426 Hemi, check out:

Melania Trump was a Hemi baby. Likely the only Mopar she ever rode in was a taxi. Dodge and Plymouth certainly made plenty of taxis.
Happy birthday Ernesto! Happy birthday HEMI!
Happy birthday Ernesto!
(With the way things are because of the coronavirus, it feels like we should be celebrating some Chevy big block birthday by now...4-54 )
GM south central regional sales manager card carrying Choctaw granddaughter based in New Orleans was just about to receive a promotion to the Dallas region we believe. All promotions are on hold. This AM, I learn GM has stopped 2nd quarter dividends. This virus is not good for the industry.
Granddaughter wants to see me in a Malibu with family discount. I picture myself in a Peugeot 508 Sedan carrying a Chrysler name plate.
Mine was 02-20-20.
What did you do to your granddaughter to deserve that ?
