    "Asking for a friend" ;)

D1: Gateline - plant has scheduled the vehicle for production.
KZ: It's built, but has additional things to be done or travel.
    KZX: In-Stock at a dealer
    KZM: In-Transit
    KZLD: In-Transit but delayed... etc

Basically KZ means it's built, but a third letter dictates where it is. Framing is kind of self explanatory.

The reason "D" status is so important is due to it being officially green-light for build.

Probably because of dealer markup. If they sold them the way they do the Demons then people wouldn’t hesitate. But no way will I sit hours at dealership with the aging it’s the best deal they can do for $8k+ over MSRP. once the price exceeds a point then I’m usually staring at a Porsche or something similar. But it’s also the holidays so I’m sure that plays a part in the sales.

@Scottina06 From what you know, are Trackhawk buyers former/current SRT folks or are they coming over from other brands just for this?

We are tracking over 200 at jeepgarage and its about 50/50 to be honest. Now on my facebook.page and.instagram....its probably 70/30 with most being new buyers to jeep.

Might have something (actually a lot) to do with the crazy quality control. You get a customer swayed over from BMW, Benz, Audi, Porsche etc you better make an impression. Many of the Challenger buyers over the years came from other brands and then fell in love with the cars, the Mopar community and later bought Rams, Jeeps - anything Mopar they could get their hands on.

Well I guess one of those Jeeps is mine...sitting in some building waiting for some person to fix the screw ups that JNAP makes....to be honest this whole Trackhawk fawk up is turning me off
. I pay $100k for a vehicle that FCA cant manufacture correctly the first time. Scott says be patient. .. I say I'm thinking of canceling my whole order... maybe buy another at Koons for $10K cheaper at let FCA keep their car with all the time they want...to fix what should have been done right the first time.

BTW where's the unlike button for that pic?

I find it fascinating, both here, and in the demon thread, that the delay in delivery in order to ensure quality is not being defended by those who complain about FCA quality all the time. I know that it can be frustrating to wait for your vehicle when you're excited to receive it and certainly feel for those of you who are waiting. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. :(

I doubt they are fixing much of anything, more likely just going over them.

I will reserve judgement because, based on the quality delays to Cherokee, Giulia, and others, the shipped product still had tons of flaws.

The frustration lies with FCA's failed communications on the process of both vehicles. My Demon order had an original"estimated" shipping date of Oct15...It is now "estimated" to be shipped Dec 5th 1 day after my Trackhawk which was ordered a full 2 months later. It also didnt help for FCA to "announce" that they were shipping Demons when in fact less than a 100 had left the plant... As of 15 minutes ago I could only count 19 Trackhawks in KZ status.

Why are dealers offering a premium product for less than cost?

These unnecessary desperate sales techniques are hurting FCA's image. Sell it for what it's worth, within reason.

Discounting beyond MSRP has to have rationale - the issue is that many dealers just disregard MSRP and sell off of cost. I would never sell my 1 or 2 allocated Trackhawks for truly below cost, and to be honest, I wouldn't accept an offer that did not have a fair bit of margin in it. Why would I?
