I have the torquier 2.5L TBI and a 5-speed manual. I engage the clutch around 1600 RPM and pull away smoothly. I shift into 5th at 30 mph around town without lugging. No 1.4L can do that. My engine has more hp and torque at lower speeds, where I need it.

True words, they had to boost morale, I'm sure we will still have a lot of changes, many of those are pending the green light, there is a lot involved.
Funny to see and heared how they manipulated those dealers, but what for the 300 ?

That's what my guy at the show said. He said there were quite a few "pending approval" qualifiers.

If half of those products get greenlighted in next 24 mos, it would still be a good news day.

  10. Could it be possible that 100 and Journey are close to production that dealers may have already seen them?

Ask your "insider" what was said about the 300, about Chryslers future, still mainstream?

There were a couple of very important dealers asking those questions to the boss.

For what it is worth, my Dart, with a 2.0 gets better mileage then that. I am regularly between 38 and 40 miles to the gallon. Even though the car is only rated for 35, it always beats that estimate. A coworker with a Corolla might Get 33 on average. his was rated for higher mileage than mine, but fails to get it.

Turbo lag can be diminished by a quick blip of the throttle before engaging the clutch. How many times have you seen a diesel powered pickup/truck that has been chipped and a cloud comes out when they hit it. If they had given the turbo a slight pre-rev, that cloud would be gone. At idle, you basically have no boost and the factory settings lower the fuel input to give the turbo time to spin up. A blip ahead gets the turbo spinning and then you have boost at the bottom. Most of the time it is not really an issue, but hills can use some bottom end.

Challenger ADR. Does ADR stand for American Drag Racing?

This is a good portion of what I knew was coming but couldn't specifically say in that thread a couple of weeks back.

And wait for it, there is MORE. They didn't show one of the things that will make MANY Jeep faithful happy....

Have you or have not driven a Dart with 1.4T in it? I get you like your old car.... but there is no comparison. You like Daytona hurray, not really a excuse to flame a vehicle that you haven't driven. Not sure the 1.4T is a hyperdriving mph compliant you might want to consider a Golf or Cruze diesel for that.

When I look at the Torque curve at 1600 rpm maybe 20#s difference at most. After that it isn't close. But hey 3 decade have passed...... it way off subject but some people can always find a cloud on sunny day. So yeah you might have to launch OMG 200 rpm higher to match... stick with your old car... no skin off on back.

But there are some things under development and even production ready that were not shown too I guess.

    JL pickup!!

    So, questions:

Nothing about the next 100, 300, or Challenger?

Nothing about the midsize CUVs (KL update, Journey replacement, Chrysler D-CUV)?

    Which Alfas were shown?

Did the Charger appear to be the same size, or will it shrink?

Is the 'Cuda badged and styled as a Dodge? Was it 'Cuda or Barracuda?
