Very true. I assumed the OP was asking about a 48v BSG system in concert with the diesel. If so I concur with RRB that the cost would likely be too high compared to the added benefit of combining them. Having a 48v electrical system is a different discussion altogether.

I was asking that exactly to match the 48 volt bsg with the diesel. Looking at the industry the cost of the 48volt system is between 900 and 1400 manufacturer cost so double it when figuring in market cost. at 2800 on top of what the eco diesel cost 4000. at 6800 premium would both systems get you 40 mpg city if so its worth it, if you drive alot. Im just asking after doing some research on the 48 volt system and the ecodiesel it seems as though it would be a perfect marriage although costly. We have both technologies I dont see why we dont bring it to market first just like we did in the pacifica. 6800 premium is alot of money I can see you point mike, dagar and redrider

Most vehicles will eventually switch to 48v electronics regardless of hybridization. Once that happens the cost of passive hybrids will drop significantly.

What spy photographers failed to realize, look around at other vehicles that are covered. Look left, right, and behind this truck.

Also, the next generation Lithium batteries are now solid state and half the size of the current manufactured. Not only footprint is reduced, the charging is more than half the time that is current seen today. We will see vehicles getting over 400 miles per charge.

    And you're also not saying it won't . . . ;)
(I can't help it, I'm a giddy twit when it comes to that thing)

These pictures were taking on a very windy day here a few weeks ago in Michigan. The cover on this DT accidentally blew off. Didn't stay uncovered for long.

No problem - I can wait. Honestly, I need to save up anyway as the Secret Squirrel I'm after will not be cheap, so it actually works to my benefit that it is a bit longer down the road. Still, I'm anxious for January as I want to see the official unveiling.
Is the new (non-TRX) Rebel going to be ready by then or will that come later?
