It’s been pretty well known on Allpar that the Cherokee update was not going to be for the 2018 MY.

Thanks for chiming in, but 2018 MY was not what either of my posts were referring to. I had thought it was going to be an early 2019 MY car, and redrider just said its slated for 2019 production, which is even later than I was thinking. That's why I said ti was disappointing.

I just checked out the 2018 Cherokee refresh thread because I wanted to verify what oh2o had said about time frames--the refreshed Cherokee will be a 2019 model open for ordering on 11 January 2018 and the engines offered would be 2.0 Hurricane, 3.2L V6 and the current 2.4L.

I see in the literature where they are supposed to have the 3.0diesel. But it looks like that is on hold until they get the issues fixed...

Tons of Stevios hitting our shores. The Port of Baltimore is full of them.

I noticed in the 2018 fleet order guide that the 3.0L I-4 option for the Ram Promaster isn't listed. What's the story on that?

There was also no Ram Promaster MY 2017 with the inline 4 3.0 diesel engine.
Previous model years certification was don by engine manufacturer (FPT Industrial, part of CNH Industrial).

In Fiat Ducato for Euro 6 diesel versions the 3.0 (F1C) engine is not used anymore, it is used only in its natural gas variant.
The place of the 3.0 engines (180 CV versions) was taken by a new versions of I4 2.3 liter Euro 6 (F1A, that is also a FPT Industrial product), its fuel consumption was reduced vs F1C up to -20%.

F1C is always used in IVECO Daily Euro 6, IVECO LMV, generators and maritime version S30.
In the IVECO Daily Euro 6 HiMatic it is coupled to the ZF 8HP 70L (LCV version) transmision.

The 2017 Ram press materials show the I-4 diesel as available. I guess this is like the 1971 Challenger T/A.

The Mitsubishi-Fuso sold in North America, as recently as 2015, also used the F1C engine.

My hope is that the Daily will show up on our shores, since the upcoming four cylinder gasoline engine is to be used in Jeeps and Ram pickups. Electrification will make up the difference in commercial use.

Mitsubishi Fuso Canter uses F1C engine also for MY 2017.
But also they announced that there will be, in 2018, a gasoline PSI / GMPT Vortec 6.0 liter V8.

As for the Daily there is an electric version, with the newer version that uses FIAMM SoNick (molten salt battery) + supercapacitors.

There was also an hybrid version around 2010, if I remember well.
A new hybrid, parallel electric, was shown in 2016 and were made some test drives with journalists.
There are rumors that will be in the market in two years.
