Getting an Aurora HO race set for Christmas was my best present ever.
My Erector set was a close second.

What a cool story! Thanks for sharing. My best friend and I spent hours with our Hot Wheels cars. Once a month, we'd get together to do some "wheeling and dealing" where we'd try to get each others best cars and tracks from one another. Seems like we never really did much trading as neither of us usually were willing to give up what the other wanted. I still have a few Hot Wheels cars, but not from my childhood. I do have a buddy in Boca Raton that is a fanatic and he buys and sells them on ebay.
