Everyone knows thats the new CGFE button Crazy Girl Friend EJECT ...........
An Eject button!!
Still an improvement to me.
Didn't see you wrote the same joke as me CDJSalesPro.
It has fully digital instrument cluster. I'm pretty much sure that it will be able to run navigation simultaneously on it and on infotainment screen.
Will it support this?
Instrument Cluster | Android Open Source Project (at https://source.android.com/devices/automotive/displays/cluster_api )
Apple CarPlay’s new dual-screen function won’t work in any car on the road today (at https://www.theverge.com/2019/9/20/20875604/apple-carplay-ios13-multiple-screen-no-support )
Or, or... Have you ever seen how it works in German cars?
What I described (Carplay in the Infotainment panel AND Carplay driven notifications in the Instrument Cluster) is not available in any 2020 MY vehicle (globally) to my knowledge. This is confirmed in the The Verge link above. This matches results based on a few minutes of Googling/looking on YouTube as well.
Please prove me wrong, it would be interesting to see what level of integration is possible for notifications on the Instrument Cluster.
I was hoping that that big.red.button was the shut off for the flux capacitor.
Emergency shutdown, like in a rally car. All the European mules have one, including BEVs like the new 500e.
(That exact type of switch is used in European factories for emergency-stop)
Car satnav can be used on 2 screens.
I didn't mention Carplay. You mentioned it.
Now you've got my attention!
The angle of that centre touchscreen looks like it's going to catch a LOT of reflections from the side windows. I'm not sure what it is about FCA and ergonomics these last few vehicles. It's like they only test the reflections on dark or really cloudy days.
2014-2018 WK2 8.4’ screens were slightly recessed/matte. I really hope these screens have good anti-reflective coatings.
I hope, but given that one has a clear reflection of the back of the steering wheel as well as the driver's side window, I'm not optimistic.
Bleh... Terrible. What a downgrade.
That screen looks tacked-on, those buttons on TOP of the screen are absolutely ridiculous, and the knob (which is fine on it's own) is taking up way more space than it needs and is in an area where it can accidentally be pressed by numerous things.
Whoever designed this needs to go back to working for the cheesy Asian brands and leave interior design for adults who actually use their vehicles...
