Douglas Clauson, Mopar Parts Man Extraordinaire, passes on

Douglas Gunnar Clauson, Parts Manager for Massey Yardley Chrysler-Jeep in Plantation, Florida, died on June 10, 2009. Mr. Clauson was 46.

Originally from Chicago, Clauson moved to South Florida in 1969 where he graduated from Ft. Lauderdale Christian School. He spent most of his career with Massey Yardley, accumulating 27 years of experience and a reputation as a Mopar Parts Man Extraordinaire. He was the emergency preparedness contract for Chrysler OEM parts for Coral Springs, Florida

Mr. Clauson is survived by his wife, Rosanne Mize, and his son Eric; his parents, Herb and Rilla Clauson, and two sisters, Carrie (Paul) Knott, Jill (Frank) Huff.

Bill Cawthon grew up in the auto industry in the 1950s. His Dad worked for Chrysler and Bill spent a number of Saturdays down on the plant floor at Dodge Main in Hamtramck. Bill is also the U.S. market correspondent for, a British auto industry publication, and a member of the Texas Auto Writers Association, which has named the Jeep Grand Cherokee the “SUV of Texas” several times and named the Ram 1500 as the “Truck of Texas” two years running.

Bill has owned five Plymouths (including the only 1962 “Texan”), one Dodge and one Chrysler and is still trying to figure out how to justify a Wrangler.
