Wrangler diesel swap kit coming

by David Zatz on

JPTrails posted a note regarding a tuner company, Green Diesel Engineering, which will soon be making a complete diesel swap for Jeep Wranglers. The company will essentially sell the same engine Europeans get in their Wranglers, the next-generation 2.8 liter VM Motori turbodiesel; they hope to match it to customers’ transmissions via cusotm adapter plates. The kit would come with an engine computer, wiring harness, and custom calibration, and is due by the end of 2010. However, it appears to be planned as a non-street-legal engine, for “kit cars” and offroad use only, possibly to avoid the expense of certification. Photo/details
