Chrysler opens S6, S8, Touring Plus for ordering

by David Zatz on

Chrysler dealers can now order the Chrysler 300 S6, 300 S8, and 300 Touring Plus. The Touring Plus essentially throws in expensive options with a large discount, while the 300 S6 and 300 S8 are mainly appearance packages with heavily discounted options included.

The S6 and S8 appear to be a combination of responding to customer desires and sweetening the deal on the 300 to contend with increased competition while a revised model is being readied. The Touring Plus is a direct attempt to increase the value of the 300 Touring model, without cheapening it with heavy rebates or reducing its resale value down the road.

While dealers can order these cars, production on the S8 and S6 does not start until May 1 and June 1, respectively, according to Chrysler sources. (Chrysler 300 S8, S6, and Touring Plus details and photos)
