Chrysler hiring 1,000 engineers

As Chrysler continues to make up for years of Daimler and Cerberus cuts, the company has been sending recruiters to 35 college campuses, according to the Detroit News, quoting Michael Palese. The company has set up a web site for prospective employees.

Around 60% of the new hires will be on the payroll, the rest joining as contract workers.
