Swivel ‘n’ Go dropped

by David Zatz on

Automotive News confirmed that Swivel ‘n’ Go has been dropped from the 2011 Chrysler minivans; while the feature was popular in the 2008 model year, it quickly fell to be included in 20% or lower of the minivans. Instead, Chrysler and Dodge will offer a second row of “captain’s chair” seating, as in the past.

Swivel ‘n’ Go had a unique look, with one row of rearward-facing seats and a folding table, but some felt the table was too small to be useful, and the seats were not as comfortable as in the Stow ‘n’ Go models; the system also impacted on cargo space.

David Zatz founded Allpar in 1998 (based on a site he had begun in 1993-94), after years of writing reviews for retail trades. He has been quoted by the New York Times, the Daily Telegraph, the Detroit News, and USA Today. Before making Allpar a full-time career, he was a consultant in organizational psychology.
