Chrysler: Enterprise’s largest supplier

by David Zatz on

Enterprise Rent-a-Car with Chrysler

Enterprise Holdings, the car rental firm, issued a release to its employees, noting that Chrysler had become Enterprise Holdings’ largest vehicle supplier.

Enterprise is often the lowest-cost of the major rental companies, and grew partly on a niche of being available for rentals to people whose cars were being repaired, while Avis and Hertz (once owned by GM and Ford) focused on higher-end airport rentals. While Chrysler once owned large shares of two rental companies, these assets have long been sold.

Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Chrysler and Fiat, and some of his leadership team met with Enterprise Holdings CEO Andy Taylor at Enterprise headquarters in St. Louis last month. The visit came at a time when Chrysler has become Enterprise Holdings’ biggest supplier of vehicles for the first time in its history.

During the meeting, the teams celebrated the support Enterprise Holdings gave Chrysler during its transition out of bankruptcy, as well as the manufacturer’s revamped product line.
