Wrangler to get big mileage boost?

by David Zatz on

The 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 and five-speed automatic will increase the Wrangler’s gas mileage dramatically, according to leaked information, giving the vehicle a 500 mile range (highway). While horsepower figures have not been released, most expect at least a 60 horsepower boost from the current 202 hp, with torque going up as well.

Currently, Wrangler is rated at 15 city, 19 highway, which is similar to the few other vehicles in its class. With the Pentastar V6 in the 2012, our source wrote that it will get 16 mpg city, 23 highway.
