General Holiefield, the United Auto Workers vice president who heads up the union's Chrysler department, was arrested by Macomb County Sheriff's deputies on Monday but was later released without charges. The matter, apparently stemming from a domestic issue, is under investigation by the Macomb County prosecutor's office, the sheriff's department said. The prosecutor's office could not be reached for comment. The UAW also could not be reached for comment.

Holiefield filed for divorce from his wife of 30 years in May.

The 58-year-old Holiefield has been a member of the UAW for 38 years and is serving his second term as vice president of the union He is expected to lead the union's negotiations this summer with Chrysler.
