New Liberty to move upscale?

by David Zatz on

An anonymous source told us that the next-generation Jeep Liberty will move far upscale of the current model; test models are reportedly out, and “it looks nothing like it does now. It’s sleeker sportier, but still maintains all of Jeep’s signature looks. The new Liberty will be the ‘poor man’s Grand Cherokee,'” much as the Compass has adopted mini-Grand Cherokee looks.

Regardless, the Liberty will not be upsold into Grand Cherokee turf; it will not pass the price of the Grand Cherokee Laredo.

Also, “off road capabilities are key for Jeep, so expect nothing less than true 4×4 Trail Rated models coming.”
