Update: Major Toledo expansion?

by David Zatz on

Larry P. Vellequette has again scooped the industry for the Toledo Blade, discovering a massive $365 million expansion plan which would allow for a 312,000 square foot expansion to the body shop of the Liberty/Nitro plant (as well as over 200,000 more feet of expansion elsewhere), new machinery and equipment, and a new level of complexity in plant operations as the 2013 model year opens.

TNAP overview

The article indicates that Chrysler may be considering expansion of the popular Jeep Wrangler’s manufacturing space beyond the currently constrained facility in Toledo. The plan hinges on city and state tax abatements.
