Team Two Horsemen of the Carpocalypse , the Allpar-sponsored team, won second place in the BABE Rally, despite their 1969 Dodge Dart being lumbered with two "penalties" (not gaining points due to the engine size, and not gaining points due to being American-made rather than British, French, or Italian).

Matt Podowitz, one of the team members, wrote,

Burn [Neil] may want to keep the Dodge as his project car. The body and paint are in really nice shape once you scrape off 15 years of tree sap and pollen, and he has become enamored with the car.

It was a blast having the two Darts on the Rally this year (even if the other Dart team had to withdraw early and we were their rolling parts car and not vice versa (grin), and I would really like to see an even stronger classic Mopar turnout on the next Rally. As Burn and I own four BABE eligible Mopars between us at the moment, we would be quite happy to look at making a sweet deal for one or more of them with new teams who want to try their hands (and constitutions) at the BABE Rally next year in a Mopar.

First place went to THOTC's friends at Team Foolswagen -- which might not have been able to start had THOTC accompanied them on the trip north to New York, helping the team to repair the recently-repaired Volkswagen around six times on the 600 mile trip. Team Foolswagen and THOTC helped each other during the rally: Foolswagen was THOTC's parts runner when the Dart needed brake parts, and THOTC to get the Volkswagen running again after it snapped its belt.
