Charger Sport on the way

by David Zatz on

“Ramman” told us that in Canada, and possibly in the US, all wheel drive Dodge Charger buyers will soon have a new option: the Charger Sport.

The Sport package on SXT and SXT Plus adds the 300-horsepower version of the V6 engine, 19-inch polished aluminum wheels with gloss black pockets, a glossy black grille, rear body-color spoiler, paddle shifters, Sport mode for the transmission, ten-speaker Beats Audio, and sport leather-surfaced seats (except SXT which stays with cloth).

The Dodge Charger R/T Sport keeps the Hemi engine and spoiler, and adds the other items.

The package cost will be $1,395 (except R/T, which costs $1,195); it will be available in white, redline tri-coat pearl, black, “granite crystal metallic,” and “billet metallic.” Timing is unknown.

Update: oh2o wrote that ordering for the Dodge Charger Sport is open in the US and Canada. Production will start on December 10, 2012, and end in February 2013.
