200 mph on Route 318

by David Zatz on

This week, Allpar has coverage of the Nevada Open Road Challenge, where drivers take cars down public highways at high speed, courtesy of Ray Alexander. This year was especially notable for its Canadian contingent.

Gerard Wilson continued his series on annual production numbers in the US and Canada, with a segment on Dodge cars built in Canada. Next week, we move on to the Chrysler brand.

We also have a feature from Bob Lincoln on retrofitting shoulder belts to cars of the 1980s (and presumably earlier models), and new coverage of the Aisin automatic transmissions used in Jeeps and Rams.

David Zatz founded Allpar in 1998 (based on a site he had begun in 1993-94), after years of writing reviews for retail trades. He has been quoted by the New York Times, the Daily Telegraph, the Detroit News, and USA Today. Before making Allpar a full-time career, he was a consultant in organizational psychology.
