Minivan mobility, B&W Dart

by David Zatz on

2012 wheelchair accessible minivan for mobility

With their cavernous interiors, flexible seating, wide hatches and doors, and relatively low load floor, minivans have long been a staple of those who need a solution for wheelchair users. Chrysler has sold a Mobility Prep Group for some time (option code AMS), and in recent years added a load-levelling suspension to the mix. The group is designed to help aftermarket upfitters to adapt minivans; some expect Ram ProMaster to be used for this as well.  The company recently scheduled production of the two options for 2014 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Caravan, to start in mid-November 2013.

The company has also scheduled a new interior color scheme for the Dodge Dart, black with ceramic white, to appear in a similar time-frame. The combination may be a startling way to brighten up the interior of the high-tech compact car.
