Australia holds Valiant wake

by David Zatz on

Australians have held a wake for the death of the Valiant, and along with it the remains of Chrysler Australia Ltd, since the 20th anniversary of the last Australian Valiant (produced in 1981, resulting in a 2001 wake).  The inaugural “Chrysler Wake Run” started with a meeting outside the Sydney Cricket Grounds, proceeded through Sydney, across the harbor bridge, and up through the Hunter Valley region to Cessnock, 80 miles away. This even thas now become an annual affair.

Noel Keenan detailed this year’s “wake” and Chrysler Australia show for Allpar, providing photos of once-common and always-rare cars, a restored Valiant police car, a classic truck, and other Mopars Down Under. Click for more.
