Charger facelift for 2015?

by David Zatz on

Chrysler’s four year plan showed refreshes for two cars coming in calendar-year 2014; these are assumed to be the Charger and Challenger, which unofficial sources have told us will both be getting eight-speed automatics for their Hemi engines. The Challenger is moving to a modified platform for that purpose; currently, it can only handle the five-speed, putting the V6 version at a disadvantage.

Challenger is currently Chrysler’s only passenger car, other than Dodge Dart and SRT Viper, which can be ordered with a manual transmission, and remains the only manual-V8 combination outside of the pickup trucks.

The Charger, Challenger, and 300C are all expected to get a minor refresh for the 2015 model year, moving to the new UConnect 2 stereos and eight-speed/V8 combination which is currently only available in Ram, Durango, and Grand Cherokee. At the same time, we’ve been told to expect a new supercharged 6.2 liter V8 engine pushing out at least 100 horsepower more than the SRT Hemi’s 470 hp.

JackRatchett’s speculative rendering is based on… speculation. This rendering did not originate from within Chrysler.
