2015 200 at the Detroit show?

by David Zatz on

Sources have told Allpar that the 2015 Chrysler 200 will make its debut appearance at the 2014 North American International Auto Show, commonly known as “the Detroit Auto Show.” Taking place in a renovated and upgraded Cobo Hall, the show is expected to be larger than it was last year, with a massive influx of domestic and foreign reporters from major and minor publications covering the two press days.

The Chrysler 200C concept car, which inspired the appearance of the current 200 and is likely the inspiration for its replacement, also debuted in Detroit.

Most sources appear to agree that the new midsize car will retain the Chrysler 200 name, although it’s likely to have a higher starting price. It will most likely have the same powertrains as the Jeep Cherokee, namely a 2.4 liter Tiger Shark four cylinder and a 3.2 liter Pentastar V6, both coupled to a nine-speed ZF-based automatic transmission.
