Chrysler/Tigers ad “viral”

Automotive News has officially declared a Chrysler ad featuring Detroit Tigers player Miguel Cabrera to have “gone viral.” The ad shows little leaguers and Mr. Cabrera in alternation, with a voice over saying that achievement is “a road paved with hardship and crafted by hard work.”

Automotive News, a trade publication sold mainly to dealers, suppliers, and other industry insiders, has started running a weekly feature on “top viral videos,” recounting the top ten based on YouTube views.  For this week, Lexus’ “Swarm” was at #1 with 1.5 million, rising from fourth place; Ron Burgundy, with 1.3 million views, fell from #1 last week to #2 this week. “Road to Greatness,” the ad featuring Mr. Cabrera, sits at #10 with 135,000 views.
