Chrysler sales rocket higher

by David Zatz on

Chrysler’s U.S. sales were 142,275 cars and trucks, 16% higher than in November 2012, easily beating the analysts’ average estimate of 10.6% and marking 44 consecutive months of sales growth. Every major domestic brand posted sales gains, with Jeep shooting up by 30%, thanks partly to Jeep Cherokee’s 10,169 sales.

The addition of the Cherokee to the product lineup helped the Jeep brand attain its best November sales ever. Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass each posted year-over-year sales gains in November, led by the 31 percent increase in Compass sales.

The Wrangler, Patriot, Dodge Dart, and Ram Cargo Van each recorded their best November sales ever.

Chrysler finished the month with a somewhat high 91 days supply of inventory (500,536 units). U.S. industry sales figures for November are internally projected at an estimated 16.3 million units Seasonally Adjusted Annual Rate (SAAR).

Fiat sales fell from last November, despite inclusion of the new 500e in California and 500L nationwide.
