ProMaster City confirmed

by David Zatz on

Doblo XL

Ram briefly confirmed a new, small commercial van:

“The Ram Commercial Truck division today announced that it will offer an all-new small van for the North American market. Joining the larger and highly capable Ram ProMaster as an additional van offering, the 2015 Ram ProMaster City will compete with small commercial and passenger vans.”

Allpar has been predicting the arrival of the ProMaster City by that name for roughly one year. While the stated original plan was to import the Fiat Doblo with few changes, based on the length of time elapsed from that plan’s announcement, we believe there will have been many changes to the Italian-Turkish van before it arrives in the US. These might include, but not be limited to, extensive suspension durability improvements and possibly (but probably not) construction in Toluca, Mexico, rather than a joint-venture plant in Turkey.

Allpar has also posted a new review of the full Ram ProMaster van.
