AN covers 100 years of Dodge

by David Zatz on

dodge100

Automotive News has published a 100-year retrospective of Dodge, from the first Dodge Brothers car to the present. Written by Larry Vellequette, the section is unusually accurate and deep, except for the idea that the Dodge brothers had envisioned the brand as “affordable performance” (their cars were fairly slow even for the time, but well made and well engineered). Particularly unusual is the acknowledgement that Dodge made cars outside of 1964-74.

The article can be found at many libraries and car dealerships, or on the magazine’s web site.

David Zatz founded Allpar in 1998 (based on a site he had begun in 1993-94), after years of writing reviews for retail trades. He has been quoted by the New York Times, the Daily Telegraph, the Detroit News, and USA Today. Before making Allpar a full-time career, he was a consultant in organizational psychology.
