Stop-start Chrysler 200: Nov-Dec

by David Zatz on

Donlen, a division of Hertz which provides fleet services, is reporting that the 2015 Chrysler 200 with stop-start technology will enter production in early November, phasing it through the product line until early December.

The system, which can be shut off by the driver, kills the engine when conditions are right and the car is at a stop, immediately restarting when the driver takes their foot off the brake, when the voltage drops too far, or, reportedly, when the interior temperature strays too far from desirable levels. It has been earmarked for Ram 1500 HFE, Jeep Cherokee, and Chrysler 200.

Chrysler will be launching its first “true” hybrid with the next generation minivans.
