500X arrives with Mopower

by David Zatz on

The American debut of the Fiat 500X has come, and it will include a Chrysler four-cylinder engine in addition to the base model’s inevitable Fiat 1.4 turbo which also powers the 500L.

Jeep Renegade and 500X are similar in platform and architecture, though Renegade presumably has a tougher body, and the Trailhawk version is much more trail-ready in its dimensions.

The 500X’s nine-speed automatic transmission, standard on all but the base model, is unique in its class — except for the Jeep Renegade. For more photos and much more information, see our Fiat 500X page.

David Zatz founded Allpar in 1998 (based on a site he had begun in 1993-94), after years of writing reviews for retail trades.
